Happy Monday The seat of the Ming Dynasty for centuries, this UNESCO World Heritage Site, measuring almost 8 million square feet, is yet another marvel of Chinese architecture. It took over a million workers 14 years to construct this sprawling complex in the 1400s using the rarest and most precious woods and marbles. Today, it is an historical and shining example of palatial art, echoing the Dynasty's power and influence in the development of Chinese politics and culture. Here are a few pictures from the Palace and Tiananmen Square.
