Hi everyone! Having a passion centered around fashion and living in the world's political capital might seem contradictory. While D.C. has a number of style mavens and well-dressed icons, it is with slow-paced progression that the city has embraced the importance of fashion not just as a visual art, but as a valuable contributor to its economy. One big step towards this was the arrival of Capitol File Magazine's beautiful, brilliant editor-in-chief, Kate Bennett. A Chevy Chase native, Bennett joined the magazine right in time for its fifth anniversary, breathing fresh air into the venerable periodical's pages. I am honored that she has chosen me to share a very personal part of my life: my closet! The Spring Fashion Issue looks amazing and shows her progressive work, balancing styling tips, charity events, insider advice, interviews, political fundraisers and the city's best places to dine. Congratulations Capitol File on a fantastic issue and thanks Kate for allowing me to share a snippet of my world with readers everywhere.
Hi everyone! Tuesday I attended the Costume Designers Guild Awards dinner held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. It was a thrill to be part of an evening dedicated to honoring the talented, behind-the-scenes artists working on motion pictures. The evening's host, Kristin Davis, looked stunning in an Oscar de la Renta polka dot dress. The career achievement award was presented by Billy Bob Thorton, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher and Diane Lane to one of my all-time favorite costume designers, Julie Weiss, who received a standing ovation. During her acceptance speech Julie had a great take on recent budget cuts in motion pictures..."You can't budget the imagination." I totally agree. The evening concluded with Samuel L. Jackson presenting the Lacoste Spotlight award to Halle Berry who looked incredibly stunning in an Elie Saab gown with plunging neckline.
My friend did this quick video short of my outfit with his phone before the awards. I am wearing a Lillie Rubin dress I absolutely love.

Hi guys! Daily, I receive emails from you with questions regarding my favorite cosmetics. It's always hard to choose a few since I love trying new things. However, there are certain scents, colors and treatments of which I can't get enough. Here is a list of my absolute favorite products; rich scents that tantalize your senses, colors that brighten even the cloudiest days, and moisturizers that remind me of times spent in paradise.
I am honored to be named one of D.C.'s most influential people under 40 for the second year in a row. Thank you to everyone at Washington Life Magazine! Make sure to get your copy today to see who else made the list...
