After a week in NYC, I was craving nature! So, I made my way over to Colorado. I spent the day in Denver on Wednesday at The Brown Palace. Yesterday morning I arrived in Aspen/Snowmass for a few days of snowboarding and spa. The mountains are covered with ancient pines and virgin snow--it's unbearably gorgeous. However, the most exciting part of the trip is that my little sister joined me!
Fun facts about The Brown Palace:
"On August 12, 1892 - 118 years ago - The Brown Palace hotel opened its doors in the heart of downtown Denver. The hotel has remained opened and welcomed guests every minute of every day, since opening."
"The Brown Palace contains 12,400 surface feet of onyx and a semiprecious variety of quartz, which was the most ever used in a single building at the time the hotel was constructed."
"The hotels original artesian well is located 720 feet deep beneath the lobby floor and still provides water to every faucet in the hotel."
